Minutes of the April 2002 Meeting of the CUAS.
April 11, 2002

The meeting was called to order by President Jeff Bryant at 7:00 P.M.
There were 17 members present.

President Bryant discussed the various events surrounding the visit to 
Champaign-Urbana by noted astronomer John Dobson. The CUAS and UIAS co-
sponsered Mr. Dobson's visit and his various activities at the Parkland 
Planetarium, the U of I Observatory, and his talks on campus.

President Bryant reviewed upcoming Club events. The next Family Skywatch is 
scheduled for April 20. The Club will setup booths at the Taste of C-U 
on June 21-23, and Day in the Park on July 20.

Mike Conron reported on progress with the 16" mirror project. It is now 
accurate to less than 1/4 wave. It is hoped to have an operational truss
mount scope later this summer.

Wayne James gave the Astro 101 presentation, and Jeff Bryant gave a 
demonstration of the Starry Night Pro software package.
