Minutes of the January 2003 Meeting of the CUAS.
January 9, 2003

The Meeting was called to order by President Jeff Bryant. There were 22
members present.

Announcements:

a). The next Skywatch is scheduled for January 11.

b). Stargazer will again be showing at the Planetarium starting in January.

c). The subject of the Feb. 7 World of Science talk will be Bioterrorism.

d). The next 'Members Only' session at the Observatory is scheduled for Feb. 1.

e). A telescope seminar is scheduled for the Febuary meeting.

Observatory news - The Observatory was recently found to have not been
properly closed and secured! Everyone please take care to make sure that ALL
procedures are followed when you use the site.

Mike and Aart report that they continue to make progress on the 16" truss
dob. The mirror is just about ready for star testing. And, will probably be
ready for mirroring this spring.

Part of the program for this meeting was a 'Show and Tell' session that was
quite interesting and various members discussed and showed recent gifts, and
projects...

Dave Leake reviewed the highlights of what we can expect to see in our skies
during 2003. We should have some very interesting viewing sessions during
the year!
