Minutes of the May 2003 Meeting of the CUAS.
May 8, 2003

The Meeting was called to order by President Jeff Bryant at 7 P.M. There
were 22 members and visitors present.

Announcements:

a). The new T-Shirts are in! They are available for purchase by Club
members, and we will be selling them at our various functions this summer.

b). The next Family Skywatch is scheduled for this coming Saturday, May 10,
weather permitting, at the CUAS Observatory.

c). The Club is sponsoring Lunar Eclipse viewing Thursday, May 15 starting
around 9 P.M. Location is on the west side of Parkland near the Planetarium.

d). The Observing session at Allerton Park on May 3 was quite successful.
Everyone enjoyed the dark skies. The next Allerton Park session is scheduled
for May 31.

e). Dave Leake has organized an Observing session at Walnut Point for June
28. Further details in the next newsletter and via email. This is a
'members-only' session.

f). The Club will again have a booth at the Taste of Champaign-Urbana on
June 20-22. We need volunteers!

g). The door on the Observatory is in need of sanding, and painting. A work
day will be scheduled in June or July to take care of this.

h). Phil Wall gave a short presentation to demo his work on the Club CD, and
is making good progress.

The program for this month was presented by Mark Haun who gave a very
interesting talk on his Aurora detector and Aurora observing.

The Meeting was adjourned about 8:30 P.M.
