Minutes of the September 2003 Meeting of the CUAS.
September 11, 2003

The Meeting was called to order by President Jeff Bryant at 7:00 P.M.
There were 29 members present.

Announcements and upcoming events:

a:) The UIAS will be having another Mars Observing session on Sept. 13 at
the U of I Observatory.

b). Allerton Park observing will be on September 20 from 7 until 11 P.M.
Meet at the Hobby Lobby at 6:30.

c). Walnut Point Observing is scheduled for September 27 from 8 until ???.

d). Thank you to Lex Lane for supplying the red flashlights that we were
able to give visitors to our Mars Observing Sessions.

e:) Thank you to all the Club Members who assisted with the various Mars
Observing Sessions! We had a huge crowd at the Meadowbrook Park session, and
a really nice crowd at the session at Parkland. Unfortunately, the monthly
Skywatch night didn't work out  because of weather.

There was a general discussion about the possibility of a Club sponsored
Star Party. This is in a very preliminary stage - if you have any ideas, or
would like to help plan for this - contact one of the Officers.

The program for this evening was viewing an episode of the 'Simpsons' that
did discuss the subject of light pollution!

We adjourned at 8:15 P.M.
