CLUB ITEMS OF BUSUNESS AND DISCUSSION

New president, Guy Hampel called meeting to order and we all snapped to
attention! …well, maybe not “snapped” J

Remember the Feb 20th Lunar eclipse!

Guy mentioned that at the officers meeting we might want to come to the
club meeting with some astronomy related question that we can discuss.

Fixing the equatorial mount at the observatory. Estimated cost around
$1,000. Making it smooth and workable would greatly improve observing
experience.

When weather improves, there are some things we can do at the dome. One
is perhaps a vent in the storage shed to mitigate some of the intense
heat. The other is painting the dome.

Moon Filters - we most likely need them. Wayne James made a motion
that we get some and John Stone seconded the motion. Mike Rosenberger
suggested we get a filter adaptor.

John Stone Need to know what to plan for concerning future events. We
need to know what events we intend to do and when to do them!

01-31-2008 Robeson School science fair 6PM to 7:15PM. Perhaps we could
show up with a few telescopes to show the people a few astro objects.

PROGRAM FOR THE EVENING

Dave Leake gave us the annual preview of the night sky using the
planetarium facility to show us significant upcoming events for 2008. We
were all impressed!

There being no further business to be brought before the officers,
the meeting was adjourned at 8:30PM
