How to get to Middle Fork Observing Site (Waterfowl Viewing Area)

These directions assume that your starting point is Champaign-Urbana:

  1. Take I-74 EAST, to exit 197, labeled IL 49 S, Royal Ogden.
  2. Exit I-74 and go NORTH, over the bridge. You will pass by Penfield and cross US Route 136. Watch for animals in the road past US route 136.
  3. As you continue N of US-136 about 5 miles, you will pass the Middle Fork Park Entrance, and go a few hundred yards past the entrance to an intersection. There is a crossroad, Country Road 3500N.
  4. Take County Road 3500N about 0.7 miles WEST (left). The parking lot is on the right after you take a couple of gentle curves.

    5. If you see a sign that says you are in Ford County, you went too far NORTH!
